HHC: THE NEW CANNABINOID ON THE HEMP SCENE

HHC: NOVÝ KANABINOID NA KONOPNÉ SCÉNĚ

We keep reading about the fact that research into CBD — but of course also other cannabinoids and cannabis substances — is a relatively recent issue. It is one of the main reasons why it is still not possible to officially confirm the medicinal potential and positive effect of cannabis.

Nevertheless, research continues to bring new and new findings, and they clearly show that we have a very promising path ahead of us to solve many physical and psychological problems. In addition, we continue to discover and understand new and new cannabis substances that have their own specific properties and benefits. This includes, for example, HHC — a cannabinoid that we are only now finally beginning to better understand.

What is HHC

HHC, or hexahydrocannabinol, is (just like the much better-known CBD) a cannabinoid, i.e. a substance naturally contained in the hemp plant. The substance was discovered using hydrogenation as early as 1944, but it was a synthetic modification of the hitherto illegal THC. Products containing HHC were therefore banned.

However, it has been found that this cannabinoid is also found in the hemp plant in its natural form, namely in the seeds or pollen of technical or CBD hemp. In this form, HHC can be further processed and tested for its allegedly massive potential. And that is why products with its content have finally appeared in our country.

What is HHC good

It needs to be said that, as is the case not only with news, opinions still do not fully agree here. But mostly it turns out that hexahydrocannabinol could effectively help with such problems as stomach upset, loss of appetite, inflammation, poor quality sleep, but also acute pain.

In addition, however, the cannabinoid HHC is also often used for purposes of relaxation, alleviation of stress or anxiety, and to induce general mental well-being. Its effects are very similar to those of THC, but they seem to be more relaxing than stimulating. However, as with all cannabinoids, it works differently for everyone and a different amount will suit everyone. Therefore, it is certainly necessary to proceed with caution in this case, mainly because the research of this cannabinoid is just getting started and no conclusions can be drawn yet or recommendations can be made regarding its use.

Is HHC psychoactive?

A question you can't help but ask, given the similarity to THC. So how is it? Yes. Both cannabinoids, HHC and THC, can induce a euphoric feeling, but with HHC this state is much milder. However, it must be taken into account that even with HHC, our perception can change.

Is HHC legal?

We already made it clear at the beginning that the synthetic version is not legal, but if the cannabinoid HHC is based on its naturally occurring form, it is possible to continue working with it legally. And we can find it exclusively in the flowers and seeds of the plant. In order for a product containing the cannabinoid HHC to be considered legal, it also needs to contain less than 1% of the cannabinoid THC and also to come from either a CBD hemp plant or a technical hemp plant.

HHC in practice

As we already know, hexahydrocannabinol is a cannabinoid, and we can therefore find it in similar products such as CBD. There are oils, skin cosmetics, cannabis flowers, vaporizer refills, sweets, capsules and many other options for external and internal use.
