Green out: what is it, what can it cause and how to get out of it?
Most of us know it, just overdo it with the devil's lettuce and the fire is on the roof. What actually causes this unpleasant condition, how does it manifest itself, but above all how to solve it?
The so-called green out causes the use of a larger amount of THC or another cannabinoid than what we are used to and what our body is able to handle. The substance can cause a feeling of disorientation and confusion in the body, these unpleasant psychological effects can frighten a person so much that they also feel physiological symptoms. For people who are simply prone to it, a state bordering on a panic attack can occur. As for the actual physiological symptoms, there may be a slight increase in heart rate, sweating, dizziness, dry mouth and burning eyes.
What now?
Most of all, calm down. Most of the unwanted, unpleasant effects are caused by fear or the unexpected strength of the substance's effects. Physically overdosing on cannabis is almost impossible, so the best thing is to simply keep calm, find a comfortable place and sit down or just lie down. A good way to lessen the effects is to tell yourself that there is virtually no danger and to breathe deeply. However, watch out for hyperventilation, hyperoxygenation can cause further worsening of the discomfort.
When life gives you lemons
Hydration is no less important, drinking more water reduces the feeling of dryness in the mouth and nausea. It is then ideal to add lemon juice to the water, or to consume other citrus fruits, because they contain an enzyme that breaks down the effects of THC. If you don't have lime, add lemon. Now seriously, if you don't have any cirrus fruits at home, chewing a few balls of black pepper can help. Some studies also conclude that CBD, i.e. cannabidiol, a non-psychoactive cannabinoid found in hemp, is an effective helper in the fight with green out.
However, we will emphasize again that the most important aspect when dealing with a green out is mental state. Remember that the condition is only temporary and will gradually fade, which will give you great relief. If you can, it's wise to try to fall asleep and simply sleep it off.
